Not every watch we sell is built to the same specification—and we don't pretend otherwise. ReplicaFactory offers three quality levels: Asian, Swiss, and 1:1 Clone.
The difference isn't just the movement. Materials, finishing, factory source, QC standards, and warranty coverage all change as you move up. This guide explains what those terms mean on our site so you can choose the level that fits your priorities and budget.

What to Expect
Asian is our entry-level option. It's designed for customers who want an affordable automatic watch without paying for the more advanced materials, finishing, or movement architecture found in our higher tiers.
The focus here is value. You get an automatic mechanical watch at the lowest price point, but you should expect wider timekeeping tolerances and simpler finishing than Swiss or 1:1 Clone versions.

What “Swiss” means here: Swiss is ReplicaFactory's name for our mid-tier quality level. We do not represent these watches or their ETA-style movements as Swiss-made.
What to Expect
Swiss is positioned between our entry-level Asian watches and specialist-factory 1:1 Clone models. The goal is to provide a noticeable improvement in movement performance, materials, finishing, and overall feel without moving into the highest price tier.
For many buyers, this is the middle ground: more refinement and tighter QC than Asian, while remaining less expensive than a model-specific 1:1 Clone.
Choose Swiss If...
- You want better materials and finishing than the Asian tier.
- You want tighter movement performance and QC.
- You want an ETA-style movement rather than an entry-level Chinese automatic caliber.
- You want an upgrade without moving to 1:1 Clone pricing.

1:1 does not mean genuine. “1:1 Clone” identifies our highest product tier. It does not mean the watch is genuine or that every component is identical to the original.
Specialist Factory Sourcing
Unlike our Asian and Swiss tiers, 1:1 Clone watches are sourced from specialist factories selected according to the specific brand, model, version, and movement.
There is no single factory that is the right source for every watch. Depending on the reference, production may come from specialist factories such as VSF, BTF, QF, GMF, ARF, PPF, 3KF, ZF, APSF, ORF, XF, and others.
Reference-Appropriate Materials
904L stainless steel applies to appropriate steel models in this tier. It should not be treated as a universal material specification for every 1:1 Clone.
Watches designed around titanium, carbon, ceramic, or other constructions use materials appropriate to that specific reference. Applicable titanium models, for example, may use Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) instead of stainless steel.

Materials
The Material Depends on Both the Tier and the Watch
Stainless steel is one of the easiest differences to compare, but it isn't the only material used across the catalog.
ASIAN
316L Stainless Steel
Applicable steel models in the Asian tier typically use 316L stainless steel.
SWISS
317L Stainless Steel
Applicable steel models in the Swiss tier use 317L stainless steel as part of the material upgrade over the entry-level tier.
1:1 CLONE
Reference-Appropriate Materials
Applicable steel models use 904L, while references designed around titanium, ceramic, carbon, or other materials use the appropriate construction for that model.
Our rule: We don't automatically copy a material specification from the genuine reference and present it as a specification of the watch being sold. Product specifications should reflect the actual version offered. If a particular material matters to your purchase, contact us about the exact model before ordering.
Movement
The Biggest Difference Is More Than the Name on the Caliber
Movement type affects cost, construction, functions, timekeeping, service considerations, and how closely the internal architecture follows the intended watch design.
01 / ASIAN
Chinese Automatic
Entry-level watches use Chinese automatic calibers such as the DG2813 family and other movements selected according to the model.
02 / SWISS
ETA-Style Automatic
The Swiss tier uses ETA-style movement architecture. “Swiss” refers to our product tier and does not mean the movement is Swiss-made.
03 / 1:1 CLONE
Model-Specific Clone
Clone movements are selected according to the specific model and may reproduce the architecture, layout, and functions of the corresponding caliber more closely than lower-tier movement solutions.
Quality Control
Every Tier Is Checked Before Shipment
The target becomes tighter as you move up through the three quality levels. Watches are inspected before shipment, including manual checks, functional inspection, and timegrapher testing.
Pre-shipment inspection combines mechanical testing with visual and functional checks. Timegrapher readings provide a snapshot of movement performance during QC, while the watch is also checked for appearance and normal operation before shipment.

These are QC targets, not lifetime guarantees. Mechanical watches do not run at exactly the same rate under every condition. Position, state of wind, temperature, use, magnetism, impact, and service condition can all affect performance.

Water Resistance
Water Resistance Is Model-Dependent
Water resistance varies by model, factory, construction, and individual watch. A rating used by the genuine reference should never automatically be assumed to apply to the watch you purchase.
Asian watches are generally intended for normal daily exposure such as hand washing, rain, and minor splashes rather than serious water use.
Swiss models may offer improved sealing depending on the construction and specific model.
Selected 1:1 Clone factories may state higher water-resistance capabilities on certain models. A factory-stated rating is not the same as an independent pressure-test result for the individual watch you receive.

What's Covered?
Warranty coverage applies to eligible functional issues involving the movement and watch functions. Depending on the watch, this may include abnormal timekeeping or eligible issues involving the crown, calendar, GMT, or chronograph functions.
What's Not Covered?
Impact damage, water damage, misuse, scratches, cosmetic wear, and normal wear and tear are not covered by the movement warranty.
Returns Are a Separate Process

The point of offering three tiers is choice. Asian isn't presented as 1:1 Clone at a lower price, and 1:1 Clone isn't necessary for every buyer. The specifications are shown so you can decide where the additional cost makes sense for you.

Is the Swiss tier actually made in Switzerland?
No. “Swiss” is ReplicaFactory's name for our mid-tier quality level. ETA-style movements used in this tier are not represented as Swiss-made ETA movements.
What's the main difference between Asian and Swiss?

Is every 1:1 Clone made from 904L stainless steel?
No. Applicable steel references use 904L. Watches designed around titanium, carbon, ceramic, or other materials use materials appropriate to that specific reference.
Does 1:1 mean identical to a genuine watch?
No. “1:1 Clone” identifies our highest product tier. It does not mean the watch is genuine or that every component is identical to the original.
Are all 1:1 Clone watches made by the same factory?
No. Factory selection depends on the brand, model, version, and movement. Different specialist factories produce different product families.
Does a clone movement mean it's a genuine movement?
No. A clone movement is not a genuine manufacturer movement. The term describes a movement designed to reproduce aspects of the architecture, layout, and functions of a corresponding caliber.
Are the accuracy figures permanently guaranteed?
No. They are pre-shipment QC targets. Mechanical movement performance can change according to position, state of wind, temperature, use, impact, magnetism, and service condition. You can read more about inspection on our Quality Control page .
Does every watch have the same water resistance?
No. Water resistance is model-dependent. Do not assume the water-resistance rating of the genuine reference automatically applies to the watch being sold. If water use matters to you, contact us about the specific model first.
Which tier has the longest warranty?
1:1 Clone includes our longest warranty at 5 years, compared with 2 years for Swiss and 1 year for Asian.
